The Plant-based Diet is Important During the Pandemic
With the spike of the Covid-19 cases, many are turning to supplements in hopes to strengthen their immune system.
Health experts have shared that we should not rely on supplements alone to be safe during the pandemic.
In a news article, Dr Zaleha, Professor of Public Health Nutrition from University Kebangsaan Malaysia shared that those following a nutritious diet tend to have a lower risk of developing diseases.

During the pandemic, try going on a whole-food, plant-based diet. This diet has all the macro and micronutrients that your body needs.
How about protein? you may ask. How is it possible to have enough protein without meat?
Tofu, tempeh, legumes, seeds and high-protein vegetables such as broccoli and spinach can equip you with the essential amino acids. If you are not ready to eliminate meat, you are highly encouraged to reduce your animal-based protein consumption. Swap with plant-based alternatives now and then for overall health.
President of Malaysian Pharmacists Society, Amrahi Buang also added that we should not overlook adequate sleep, consistent exercise, better stress management and enough sunlight. Our health does not depend on our diet alone.
